Welcome to Otterburn

A nurse-led care home for adults with complex needs, Otterburn aims to make every day better for service users. Identifying achievable goals with service users, their families and professionals ensures they retain some form of independence.

Care and activity plans are centred around each individual, who are encouraged to be happy and fulfilled.

Our home

Otter, Fox and Squirrel are the three units at Otterburn, each with 10 bedrooms. Each unit has a dining room, lounge and a quiet area. Bedrooms are decorated to suit individual tastes, each fitted with TV and telephone access points, as well as an ensuite wet room.

As with all Exemplar's homes, Otterburn has a firm open door policy. We encourage friends and family to visit at any time and play an active role in the service users life - we want to make sure our service users have the best possible quality of life.

Service user forums are held every eight weeks, allowing everyone to share their views on activities and put forward any ideas for the future. Social activities are part of a healthy and balanced life, our services users participate in many group and individual activities dependent on their personal interests.

Outings are regular, with days out include visits to the park, local cinema and even holidays to Wales. An onsite minibus means transport is always available.

Otterburn provides service users with access to the garden, where many events occur throughout the summer. Raised flower beds are also featured in the garden, brilliant for individuals who wish to try their hand at gardening.

Otterburn also offers respite care placements.
