Why Exemplar Health Care?

At Exemplar Health Care, our mission is to make every day better for the people we support. We do this by putting them at the heart of everything that we do.

Our care homes support people with some of the most complex and acute needs, who would often be in a hospital setting if not placed with us, enabling them to stay in the community, closer to their family and friends.

Our care homes have in-house teams of highly trained Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Life Skills Facilitators, as well as access to clinical experts. Many of our homes also have in-house Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

This enables your relative to access support with all of their medical and care needs, in a community-based home.

Life, your way!

Life in an Exemplar Health Care home is all about choice!

Everything that we do is personalised to the individuals that we support. We encourage people to continue to do the things that they enjoy, as well as develop new hobbies and access education and volunteering if they wish. And we adjust our approach as a person’s condition develops and changes.

We listen to the people who live in our care homes and involve them in decisions that impact their life and the running of our homes.

Your relative could also become their home’s Service User Ambassador, and get involved in company-wide projects and help us to continually improve our services based on their experiences. They also get involved in roles around the home such as meet and greet, staff recruitment and activities.

The right care, the first time round

When you choose Exemplar Health Care, you can be confident that you’ve chosen the right care home, the first time!

We know the distress that individuals and their families face when their care home placement breaks down.

Finding the right care home for adults living with complex needs can be difficult.

Not all care homes have the right facilities and expertise to meet people’s needs, which can often lead to their placement failing.

At Exemplar Health Care, we’re confident that we have the right experience, skills and staffing levels to provide the specialist care required to support those living with complex needs.

Over 60% of our residents come to our homes following a failed placement.

Our high staffing levels and holistic approach to nursing care ensure that people get the right care, at the right time, the first time round.

Our commitment to excellence and quality

At Exemplar Health Care, we’re proud of our care homes and the care they provide.

Our commitment to quality is recognised and reflected in the ratings that we receive from external bodies such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of adult social care and health services in England.

We’re also proud of the feedback that we’ve received from our service users, their family and friends, and health and social care professionals. Read our service user stories to see what people have to say about our care homes.

Accreditations and certifications

We're proud of the accreditations and certifications that we've achieved, to ensure that our care teams are confident and competent to delivery high-quality care.

Behavioural support

All of our care and nursing colleagues complete our Exemplar Positive Behaviour Support (EPBS) training that’s been certificated by Bild ACT, and are supported by our central team of Behaviour Support Practitioners through person-centred interventions and regular forums.

Huntington’s Disease Association accreditation

A number of our care homes are accredited by the Huntington’s Disease Association. This accreditation recognises the home as having the behaviours, cultures and specialist services required for a care home to specialise in caring for people affected by Huntington’s disease.
