Great progress on site at Exemplar Health Care’s new home Brook View

We’re counting down the days to 17 June 2019, when, after a full refurbishment, Brook View is opening its doors to meet the needs of people living with a range of complex nursing needs.

Exemplar Health Care Health Care’s newest home – our second in Liverpool – will include 32 large en suite bedrooms, spacious communal areas and a therapy suite. The building, formerly accommodation for nurses who worked on the hospital site, is currently undergoing a full refurbishment. The strip out of the old building is now complete, with walls demolished and floors taken up so Exemplar Health Care’s new look home can begin to take shape.

New, larger bedrooms and communal spaces are now being created, reducing the former 62 bed home into a spacious and light new specialist service for adults with complex needs. Other works to create a modern new kitchen and therapy suite will begin to take place in the coming weeks. Outside, the garden will be landscaped and the front of the building given a fresh new look.

Brook View is looking for colleagues – from neurological nurses to carers and cooks, people from the local area are encouraged to get in touch if they are interested in any types of roles. The team is particularly keen to hear from Registered Mental Health nurses who can help to shape the new specialist service.

Specialist care
Brook View will provide specialist nursing care for people living with complex needs including:
• Neuro-disability
• Brain injury and stroke
• Mental health conditions
• Complex dementia

The specialist care and clinical teams will work with service users and families to create outcome-focused care plans with the aim of gaining independence for each individual, in a care setting tailored for rehabilitation and recovery.

Charlotte Lloyd has recently joined Exemplar Health Care as Regional Director of Operations and is leading on the commissioning of Brook View.

Charlotte said: “The new home is designed to offer a high-quality service with a holistic approach. We are already making great progress recruiting specialist colleagues, passionate about delivering excellent care. We are making good local connections with regards to recruitment and engagement with commissioners. It’s a busy time – and a really exciting time to join Exemplar Health Care. I look forward to seeing the development evolve and see the home take shape as we get closer to opening in June.

Preview event – Wednesday 20 March

On Wednesday 20 March, we will be holding an exclusive preview event of Brook View before its final completion. The event is your opportunity to visit the service, meet the management team and enjoy an early look at some of the facilities as building works draw closer to completion. The entire team will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the local requirements as we continue to shape this new service before it opens.
