Congratulations, and thank you to Exemplar Health Care’s Inspirational Nurses

To help celebrate this month’s International Nurses’ Day, Exemplar Health Care asked home managers from across our 27 specialist care homes to nominate a nurse who has shown an incredible amount of dedication, commitment and who is particularly inspirational within their role, with the chosen three nominees now looking forward to an exclusive day in London to celebrate the life and legacy of Florence Nightingale.

After reading through nominations, Exemplar Health Care’s Clinical Director Helen Baxendale, has chosen the nurses who will be attending the, ‘Westminster Abbey Commemoration Service for Florence Nightingale’ event, alongside herself and Exemplar Health Care’s Senior Director of Operations, Selina Wall. The special day on Wednesday 15 May, will be rounded off with afternoon tea to further celebrate their inspirational work.

The three nurses now set to enjoy a day in London, are: Julie who has worked at our Castleford home Fairburn Mews for more than 10 years, Lynn Donohue, Unit Manager at our home in Leigh, Lakeview, and Registered Nurse Violetta Dimitrova at our Immingham home, Havenmere.

Helen Baxendale, congratulated the nurses on their prize and said: “At Exemplar Health Care we are privileged to work with such hard-working, skilled and dedicated nurses and we want to celebrate those people across our homes. It was lovely reading through some very strong nominations, and I thank everyone who took the time to put them together.

“It was a really tough job to choose just three nurses from our 27 homes as we know how fantastic our nurses are.

“I am very proud of the everyone who was nominated and I would like to congratulate those who will be joining us in London to help celebrate everything that is good in nursing as we mark Florence Nightingale’s life and her legacy in nursing.”

Celebrating our nurses on International Nurses Day

International Nurses Day takes place on 12 May and we will be extending our thanks to our nurses for their hard work in all of our homes. In order to show our appreciation, we will be running a series of activities around the day, including a cake and coffee morning and visits from senior members of the Exemplar Health Care team.
