Located in Castleford, Fairburn Mews is a nursing care home for adults with complex needs. Fairburn Mews is quality assured by the Huntington’s Disease Association (HDA), and is proud to be the first care home in England to receive this accreditation. Service users at Fairburn Mews live in two 10-bedroom units, Hulme and Lowrie.
The Hulme unit cares for people living with mental health conditions and complex behaviours. The Lowrie unit provides nursing care for those living with neurological disabilities and both units include a dining room and lounge. Bedrooms can be decorated to suit personal tastes and every room has a TV point, WiFi and an accessible ensuite wet room.
We understand the importance of good, nutritious food. Our restaurant style dining menu is developed with service users at quarterly Food Forums. This ensures our menus are varied, interesting and available to everyone, taking into account personal preferences, condition-specific and religious dietary requirements.
I really enjoy visiting this home. The team are exceptionally good and are always welcoming and helpful. The most striking thing about the home is how well looked after the clients are. They are always very well dressed and the home itself is very clean. I could not suggest anything that could improve this home.
