About Kingfisher View

The complex needs care service has seven single and dual occupancy apartments, which are modern and fully equipped to maximise people’s independence.

We encourage people to personalise their apartment so that it feels like home, whether that’s a full redecoration or encouraging them to bring special items that are filled with fond memories.

The service also has a communal dining area, games room, relaxation room and large accessible garden which promotes a community feel to the service.

The home is close to local amenities and transport links so that people can maintain their community connections.

Making every day better

As a specialist care service, Kingfisher View has an excellent track record of successfully helping those who have had failed placements previously. Our high staffing levels enable us to work as people’s own pace and build trust, which leads to longer term, person-centred outcomes.

We care for some of the most complex and acute individuals, who would often be in a hospital setting if not placed with us, enabling them to stay in the community and reducing hospital and secure facility admission. Many of the people we support have been deemed to have behaviours that are considered ‘too complex’ for mainstream nursing and care services.

All of our care and nursing colleagues complete our Exemplar Positive Behaviour Support (EPBS) training that’s been certificated by Bild ACT, and are supported by our central team of Behaviour Support Specialists. This means that, for many of our service users, we’re successful in achieving a significant reduction in behaviours of concern and use of observations within 12 weeks of stay.

About our care

I’ve lived in lots of places and [Kingfisher View] is one of the best places you can be after a head injury! The staff are fantastic and the home is so warm and friendly, all of the residents get on and there’s plenty of activities here. We get to make friends, we get to cook together, clean together, live together. It gets you ready for future life.
