St Andrew’s Court welcomes over a dozen people to preview event

St Andrews Court

Our new Hull specialist care home for complex needs, St Andrew’s Court, welcomed over a dozen healthcare professionals to see how the development is progressing ahead of the home’s opening later this year.

The hard-hat preview event gave attendees the opportunity to look at both the bedrooms and shared communal areas of the home. The site is being adapted from a 34-bed elderly care home to meet the requirement of Exemplar Health Care residents and as part of the adaptations, 20 specially designed bedrooms with ensuite facilities are being created.

Refreshments were provided at the nearby Rainbow Children’s Centre where there was the opportunity for people to ask Exemplar Health Care representatives Kelly Hodgson (Customer Engagement Manager), Karen Walsh (Head of Customer Engagement) and Charlotte Lloyd (Commissioning  Director) any questions they had about the refurbishment and home opening.

Charlotte Lloyd, Commissioning Director, said “Our new Hull home is on track to open in Autumn and we had a wonderful afternoon showing local representatives and new staff around the development.

We’ve worked hard to adapt the original building to meet the needs of our residents and the great feedback we were given about the quality of the build has been well received. We have a large hub area on the ground floor which overlooks the garden and we can already imagine residents enjoying a variety of activities in the space.”

The home will provide specialist nursing care for adults with a range of complex nursing needs, including dementia, mental health conditions, brain injury, stroke and neuro-disabilities. Available roles include commissioning home director, support workers, nurses, domestic staff and a skills facilitator and we’re encouraging local residents to apply for the roles via our Careers page.
