Shire Oaks Court is now open; our new complex needs care home in Walsall

We’re delighted to announce that our new complex needs care home in Walsall, Shire Oaks Court, is now open.

Shire Oaks Court supports adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities. 

The team were delighted to open their doors last week and introduce their first resident to their new home. 

A new standard for excellence

Charlotte Lloyd, Director of Commissioning said: "We are thrilled to announce the opening of Shire Oaks Court.

"Our new care home is designed to provide a supportive and empowering environment for adults with complex care needs. 

“We believe that everyone deserves to live with dignity and respect and have the opportunity to thrive no matter their health needs. 

“With our state-of-the-art facilities, highly trained staff, and focus on promoting independence and choice, Shire Oaks Court will set a new standard for excellence in the care for adults, whilst bringing much needed additional specialist care capacity to the local area.”

About Shire Oaks Court

Shire Oaks Court has 30 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across three units. This small group living enables us to provide a supportive environment that’s responsive to people’s needs.

Each unit has lots of communal space with a dining room, lounge, quiet lounge and a sensory bathroom. 

Residents can also enjoy an activities hub, therapy, room, hair salon and large accessible gardens for socialising with others. The home has its own therapy room providing a dedicated space for rehabilitation.

High staffing levels

As a specialist care provider, our staffing levels are higher than most, with an average of six Health Care Assistants and at least one Registered Nurse on each small unit. 

Our in-house team also includes a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Therapy Assistant and Activities Team. 

Each one of our teams play an important part in our mission to make every day better for the people we support.

As we welcome new residents to the home, we’re looking to grow our team with Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses and support roles including catering, housekeeping and maintenance.
