Exemplar Health Care marked the opening of its brand-new care home, Kingfisher View, on 16 March 2019.

Exemplar Health Care colleagues and local stakeholders came together to celebrate the home’s official launch. Exemplar Health Care’s newest care home, Kingfisher View will provide specialist nurse-led care to some of the region’s most vulnerable adults.

The ribbon was cut by the Mayor of Wakefield alongside Home Manager Mark Rice-Thomson and newly moved in resident, Karen Watson. They were also joined by residents and colleagues from Exemplar Health Care’s neighbouring homes Fairburn View and Fairburn Vale.

Mark Rice-Thompson, Commissioning Home Manager for Kingfisher View, said “I’m delighted to be opening this innovative new service and to be providing high quality care in the years to come. I am really looking forward to working with our great team, our residents and health and social care professionals to make every day better for our residents.”

Mayor, Councillor Stuart Heptinstall, said “We are so proud and pleased to be here today and to meet everyone who has been involved in the launch of such a lovely home. Kingfisher View is a beautiful home and has been designed with the residents’ needs and wants at the forefront. Kingfisher View, joins Exemplar Health Care’s two other Castleford homes, Fairburn Mews and Fairburn Vale, and will be home to some of our community’s most vulnerable people and many local people will also work here. Mark and his team have really worked hard to make Kingfisher View a fantastic place for people to live.”
