Being a Registered Nurse at Exemplar Health Care provides an excellent opportunity to make a difference to the lives of the people we support.
Nursing within a social care setting is often viewed negatively, with many people devaluing these roles and thinking they may lose skills along the way - this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Our varied nursing care
The people we support live with a range of complex needs arising from brain injuries, mental health conditions, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities. We also have several learning disability services.
Our care focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Throughout our services, our care doesn’t just focus on physical and mental health. We support people’s emotional, sexual, social and spiritual needs too, to ensure holistic support in their day to day lives.
As a result of this, you’ll work with a range of different individuals, all with different needs, on a continuing basis. This gives you the opportunity to truly make a difference, and make a huge impact on each individual.
Gaby Night, Nurse Manager at our Otterburn care home in Birmingham said, “One thing that I really, really love about this place is the fact that there are different specialties of nursing. We have the RMN (Registered Nurse with specialist training in mental health nursing), the Learning Disability Nurses and myself as an Adult Trained Nurse. So literally everyone's working together and learning from each other.”
Working closely with our residents
Our services have higher than average staffing levels compared to other services, and we pride ourselves on our Nurse/Health Care Assistant ratio. This ratio gives you more time to spend with the people you support and provide person-centred care.
Together with loved ones and professionals, you’ll write and implement care plans, tailored to individual needs and goals, that enable people to live life exactly as they choose to.
You’ll build relationships with other professionals, including Commissioners, Social Workers and other multidisciplinary team members, to ensure that the voice of the person we support is at the forefront of everything we do.
Being such an important part of the care we provide leaves you with an immense sense of pride and achievement when you see progression. When we say our roles are rewarding, we really mean it!
