The team at Lakeview care home is celebrating after being rated ‘Good’ in all areas by Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The assessment, carried out in October, reviewed how safe, effective, responsive, and well-led the service is.
The report praised Lakeview’s strong leadership, personalised approach, and positive culture -with several ‘Well-led’ statements rated as Outstanding.
To mark the achievement, friends, families, residents, and colleagues came together for a ‘Green’ themed celebration at the home.
Two residents, Amy and Kayleigh, spoke about their experiences of living at Lakeview, sharing the progress they’ve made and the support they’ve received.
Home Manager, Emma, thanked colleagues for their continued dedication and gifted everyone a small token of appreciation.

The CQC report highlighted how people living at the home receive compassionate care that promotes both independence and wellbeing.
One person told inspectors:
“When I first moved to Lakeview, I was in a bad place. I couldn’t walk or take care of myself - but now look at me!
"They’ve helped me become independent again.”
Most people described the care as “excellent” and, in some cases, “life-changing.” Another resident told inspectors:
“I wouldn’t be where I am without the support here.”
Inspectors found that people were actively involved in writing their own care plans and felt respected by the team.
They also noted how colleagues empower residents to live fulfilling lives - supporting them to gain qualifications, start education courses, go to the pub, or take part in community events to boost their social wellbeing.
The report also praised Lakeview’s inclusive and transparent leadership, and its commitment to learning and improvement.
People described the management team as “kind and caring” and wanting “everything to be right for everybody.”
Staff felt valued, supported and trusted to make decisions that improve people’s lives. One colleague, who had recently joined the home but had years of experience in care, told inspectors:
“The induction is great - it’s the best I have ever had.”
Emma Bakunda, Home Manager at Lakeview, said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled with this result. It’s a reflection of the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of our whole team.
"Everyone works incredibly hard to make every day better for the people we support, and to see that recognised by CQC is fantastic.”
