Profile of need
Has complex physical and/or cognitive needs, with multiple long‑term conditions, complex mental and physical health needs, and reduced mobility
Requires a higher level of care, monitoring, and clinical oversight than standard residential provision
Typically has a primary neurological diagnosis such as brain injury, Huntington’s disease, or advanced dementia
May have a forensic background where risks are low, historic, and well‑managed - and where behaviour is predictable and stable
May require continuing care through to end of life
Requires a calm and structured environment, supportive and reassuring atmosphere, and strong focus on consistency, routine, and therapeutic engagement
Requires a placement which provides stability and continuity, rather than short‑term rehabilitation or a crisis placement
May be moving from acute hospital settings following medical stabilisation, community or intermediate care services, other care settings or their own homes where care needs have become too complex

Getting to Lakeview
Directions to Lakeview
Lakeview is a short drive from the M62 via the M61 and M60.
If you're travelling on the M61, follow signs for Preston and take the A58 exit to Wigan/Bolton.
If you're travelling on the M60, take the East Lancashire Road exit.
Lakeview is just off Edna Road, which you can access from A578 Wigan Road.
There are limited parking spaces in the home’s car park. Street parking is available along Edna Road and Ena Crescent.
