Our new complex needs care home Bennett Court, in Pontefract is open

We’re delighted to announce that our newest complex needs care home, Bennett Court, opened in South Elmsall, Pontefract.

Bennett Court is our sixth home in West Yorkshire, which will support 30 adults living with complex mental and physical health needs.

Based on Ash Grove in South Elmsall, the new 30-bed home has the facilities and skills to provide safe person-centred care for adults who have neuro-disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex mental health needs, including those who display behaviours of concern.

Our approach to care focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.

Speaking about the opening, Helen Lawson, Commissioning Home Director for Bennett Court, said: “I’m delighted to have opened Bennett Court – and to be providing 150 jobs for the local area. We are excited to build up the team working within the home and to be able to provide our residents with the very best care. 

"Our goal at Bennett Court is to help our residents with everyday living skills and empower them to live as fulfilled and independent lives as possible.”

Our home provides a welcoming environment where people can feel at home, continue to do the things that they enjoy, and remain closer to family, friends and loved ones.

Bennett Court has 30 large bedrooms across three units, each with an en-suite wet room. We’ve found that this small group living provides a homely and supportive environment, which is more responsive to people’s needs.

We encourage people to personalise their rooms so that it feels like home, whether that’s a full re-decoration or encouraging people to bring special items that are filled with fond memories.

The home also has communal dining and living space, as well as a sensory and therapy room which provides a dedicated space for rehabilitation.

Bennett Court is surrounded by a large landscaped garden, that’s been designed with accessibility in mind, and is ideal for parties, events and activities.
