Exemplar Health Care residents enjoy weekends away on accessible holidays

At Exemplar Health Care, we’re on a mission to make this summer unforgettable!

And that shouldn’t be any different for people who live in care homes.

The summer holiday season is in full swing at Exemplar Health Care, with a number of our residents making memorable experiences on their summer getaways.

Fairburn Vale pack their bags for a girl’s trip

A group of ladies from Fairburn Vale packed their bags for a girl’s trip and headed to The Bay holiday resort in Filey for the weekend.

The trip was organised to celebrate Lynn’s birthday, and the ladies enjoyed taking in the fresh sea air, strolling through local scenery, and even meeting a mischievous donkey (… “you had to be there” says Lynn!).

They stayed at the accessible cottage specially adapted for wheelchair users and guests with mobility difficulties, which includes a through-floor lift, ceiling tracking, and a hoist.

At night, they hit the arcades and shared lots of laughter, making memories together for a special occasion.

Roy has the winning spirit in Blackpool

Meanwhile, Roy, a resident at Fairwinds, decided on an adventure to Blackpool.

While staying at the Forshaws Hotel near the north pier, he enjoyed walks to the pleasure beach, where he watched the sunset.

Roy was also in the winning spirit as he played 10p bingo and won lots of rounds, adding to the excitement of the trip.
