The accreditation is a quality assurance programme that identifies the behaviours, cultures and specialist services required for a care home to specialise in caring for people living with Huntington’s disease.
Dearnevale, which supports up to 40 adults living with complex needs, has been awarded the HDA Quality Assured tick after going through a rigorous process to meet the stands to pass the accreditation.
The judging process saw HDA officials and an independent assessor spend time at the home. Colleagues at the home, families and service users were also interviewed.

Helen Santini, Team Leader - Advisory Service at the Huntington's Disease Association, said: "Quality Assured is a rigorous assessment process that looks at Huntington's disease specific standards in addition to Dearnevale's excellent CQC reports.
“Dearnevale has met all nine quality standards which is testament to the care and support provided to residents and families.
“The accreditation will run for two years until 2024 and we hope that Dearnevale will reapply in the future in order to reassure potential customers that the service continues to the high standards that are currently provided.
