Blackmoor, our third complex needs care home in Birmingham, is open!

We’re delighted to announce that last week our newest complex needs care home, Blackmoor, opened in Birmingham.

Blackmoor, is Exemplar Health Care’s fifth home in the West Midlands, which will support 30 adults living with complex mental and physical health needs.

The 30-bed home has the facilities and skills to provide safe person-centred care and rehabilitation for adults who have neuro-disabilities, acquired brain injuries and complex mental health needs, including those who display behaviours of concern.

The home also has communal dining and living spaces, as well as an activities hub, therapy kitchen, salon, multi-faith room and large accessible garden.

“I’m thrilled to have opened Exemplar Health Care’s third home in Birmingham. This community-based home will provide person-centered care and rehabilitation that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills, and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.

“It is extremely rewarding to be able to support 30 local people with complex health needs, and to provide over 100 stable and local jobs for those wanting to progress their careers.” 

A place to call home

Blackmoor provides a welcoming environment where people can feel at home, continue to do the things that they enjoy, and remain closer to family, friends and loved ones.

The home has 30 large bedrooms across three units, including male-only and female-only units - Each bedroom comes equipped with an ensuite wet room, while the complex will provide communal dining and living spaces as well as a cafe, sensory room and accessible garden. 

We’ve found that this small group living provides a homely and supportive environment, which is more responsive to people’s needs.

The home is surrounded by a large landscaped garden, that’s been designed with accessibility in mind, and is ideal for parties, events and activities.

Blackmoor also has a trained team of Nurses and Health Care Assistants, supported by a dedicated Therapy Team comprising of an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Life-Skills Coordinator.
