Blackmoor has 30 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across three units. The home has communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, a sensory bathroom and a large accessible garden.

Tolkien Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and physical health needs. The Tolkien Team is trained to support those who display behaviours of concern. The unit is exclusively for people who identify as male.

James Brindley Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and early onset dementia.
- Bournville Unit

Bournville Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and physical health needs. The Bournville Team is trained to support those who display behaviours of concern. The unit is exclusively for people who identify as female.

As a complex care home, Blackmoor has an excellent track record of supporting adults whose placements have previously failed. Our high staffing levels allow us to build trust and work at the pace of the individual, which leads to improved person-centred and longer-term outcomes.
Many of the people we support at Blackmoor are deemed to display behaviours that are ‘too complex’ for mainstream nursing and residential care providers.
For many of our service users, we’re successful in achieving a significant reduction in behaviours of concern and use of observations within 12 weeks of stay.
