At Exemplar Health Care, our mission is to make every day better for the people we support and our colleagues.

Throughout August, we’ve supported our Lionesses, celebrated Yorkshire Day in our Yorkshire based care homes and some of our homes have organised a meet up to enjoy a day out together.

This blog shares a roundup of what we’ve been up to throughout August.

Happy Yorkshire Day!

Each year, our Yorkshire based care homes celebrate Yorkshire Day with residents, colleagues and families.

The Activities Team at our Dearnevale care home in Barnsley celebrated with a Yorkshire quiz, nibbles and homemade parkin. They also held a competition to make a Yorkshire rose, which was won by the Derbyshire Unit.

Lonnen Grove care home in Rotherham enjoyed some Yorkshire pudding wraps for dinner, followed by a cake with the white rose on it and created a beautiful display filled with all things Yorkshire in their home.

Longley Park View care home in Sheffield had a fun-filled day complete with a bedside sing-a-long and a cup of Yorkshire Tea to finish with!

Fairburn Mews care home in Castleford enjoyed a day of pie and peas for dinner and watching some pigeon and dog racing, in their words: “We ad a gud un!”

Finally, our Willowbeck care home in Sheffield enjoyed getting hands-on and making Yorkshire puddings to celebrate the day!

Cheering on our Lionesses

This summer, we saw our Lionesses on the England Women’s Football Team go all the way to win the European Championship, and we followed them all the way to the final!

Here are some of our fan photos from Greenside Court care home in Greasbrough, Fairburn Mews care home in Castleford, Havenmere care home in Immingham and our Sheffield based care home, Willowbeck.

Greenside Court meets Fairwinds

Our Greenside Court care home in Greasbrough arranged a day trip to meet residents and colleagues at Fairwinds in Rotherham to enjoy their summer fayre.

The visitors won on the raffle, had burgers, drinks, cake and lots of fun meeting people from other homes.

Sarah bought herself a beautiful necklace made by the residents at Fairwinds too.
