Heather Unit
Has a primary dementia diagnosis, including alcohol-related, early-onset, frontotemporal, or vascular dementia
Has complex co-occurring mental and physical health needs requiring integrated care beyond mainstream provision
Displays high-risk behaviours of concern requiring enhanced observation and structured risk management
Has significant cognitive impairment affecting memory, judgement, and awareness of risk
May present with increased clinical and safety risks
May have a forensic background, with risk-related behaviours reduced or ceased, and may remain subject to legal restrictions
May have dysphagia, requiring modified diets, supervised mealtimes, and aspiration risk management
May experience progressive health decline associated with increasing frailty
May require continuing care through to end of life
Lavender Unit
Has a primary neurological diagnosis, including brain injury, Huntington’s disease, spinal injury, or stroke
Presents with predominant physical health needs, including autonomic dysreflexia, dysphagia, or a respiratory condition
May have a secondary mental health diagnosis
May require nursing and clinical interventions including catheter and stoma care, central venous access management, and enteral feeding
May require respiratory support, including continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), bilevel positive airway pressure (BiPAP), tracheostomy care, and mechanical ventilation
Has significant mobility impairment requiring full assistance with transfers and repositioning, specialist equipment, and enhanced moving and handling support
Requires a low-sensory environment with predictable stimuli
Engages in daily life with encouragement and structured support
May be moving from a hospital or secure setting, and have experienced one or more previous placement breakdowns
May experience progressive health decline associated with increasing frailty
May require continuing care through to end of life
Thistle Unit (male-only)
Has complex mental health needs arising from a primary mental health or neurological diagnosis
Displays high-risk behaviours of concern, including disinhibited and sexualised behaviour, requiring enhanced observation and structured risk management
Requires a male-only environment to support safe management of risk and behaviour
May have a forensic background, with risk-related behaviours reduced or ceased, and may remain subject to legal restrictions
May have a history of alcohol or other substance misuse
May be moving from a hospital or secure setting, and have experienced one or more previous placement breakdowns

Wykewood is a short drive from the M62 and other major roads including the M606 and A58.
If you're travelling on the M62, follow the M62 towards Manchester/Bradford/Airport and take the M606/A58 exit at junction 26.
Wykewood is situated on Huddersfield Road and is next door to Motive8 College.
There are limited parking spaces in the home’s car park. Street parking is available along Huddersfield Road.
