Residents and colleagues at our Ribble View care home in Preston dressed to impress in cowboy gear for a hoedown-themed picnic, complete with hay bales, country and western music and line dancing.
To celebrate National Picnic Month in July, residents and colleagues at Ribble View arranged a hoedown-themed picnic, with edible hay bales (crispy buns), horse patties (Cornflake cakes), tractor-shaped biscuits and cupcakes decorated with cowboy hats, as well as a delicious feast of chilli, nachos, burgers and hot dogs made by the Catering Team.
Residents decorated the hoedown with hand-painted cacti, a ‘Wanted’ photo frame, themed bunting and a fun hoopla game, and were supported to pull out their best cowboy-inspired fancy dress for the day.
On the day, everyone saddled up for a fun day of games and western and country music – the home even staged their own version of a hoedown line dance.
Sarah Calvert, Activities Coordinator at Ribble View, said: “Seeing everyone smiling, laughing and enjoying themselves made it into the best day ever! We can’t wait for the next party here at Ribble View.”
