Exemplar Health Care submits planning application for new care home in Oakham

Exemplar Health Care is one of the country’s leading nursing care providers for adults living with complex care needs. We're pleased to announce that we've put in a planning application to build a new 30 bedroom care home and six bedroom bungalow in Oakham, in the Hawksmead Park area.

The proposed care home will support adults who need nursing care following a brain injury or stroke, spinal cord injury, or are living with a complex physical disability or mental health condition. The six bedroom bungalow will be a standalone service for people living with learning disabilities.

We’ve worked closely with health and social care authorities in the area, and hope to bring our services to Oakham. Enabling local people who have suffered an accident, or are living with complex needs, to receive the care that they need close to their homes and loved ones. 

We’re working with reputable pre-application Planning Advisors and Architects to ensure that the design of the building is in keeping with the local area, whilst also meeting the needs of the residents who will live in the home.

Our community-based homes provide person-centred care that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible. 

We support people on their journey from being in hospital to community-based living, as well as offering longer term support for people living with degenerative or life-limiting illnesses.

We’re proud that our homes have a strong connection with their local community, including schools, colleges and charities. We also support and source local businesses for services such as window cleaning, taxis and garden maintenance – so we hope to work with many of you over the coming years.

If granted, the proposal in Oakham will create a substantial number of jobs during the construction phase of the works and in excess of 100 full and part time jobs when the home is operational.
