Following a £4.9 million investment, Blackmoor located near Birmingham City Centre will support 30 adults living with a brain injury, neuro-disability, spinal injury, physical disability or mental health conditions.

Ahead of the opening, Exemplar Health Care has donated four park benches to a local park in Birmingham, Tilecross Park.

The initiative was set up by builders Walter Thompson and Exemplar Health Care, as part of their work with The Tile Cross Resident Group to make Tile Cross a cleaner, greener and safer place to live.

Teresa Minnis from Tilecross Neighbourhoods Residents, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the team at both Walter Thompson and Exemplar Health Care who have kindly made this happen, successfully donating and installing 4 park benches right in the heart of our community.”

Kerry Hill, Blackmoor’s Commissioning Home Director, shares: “Every one of our care homes provides supportive, welcoming, community-based services which help individuals reach their goals. With only a few months to go, we’re urging locals to apply for one of our roles.

“As well as providing employment opportunities, there are plans in place to help Blackmoor become part of the local community. It’s our ambition for Blackmoor to be a place where we host community events, and where our residents can be part of the community, whether through work placements, local events or volunteering.”

About Blackmoor

Blackmoor will have three 10-bed units so colleagues will build close relationships with those they support and see the difference they make each and every day.

The home will feature communal spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy, as well as dedicated space for activities and rehabilitation. Every bedroom will come with an en-suite wet room and the home will be surrounded by large landscaped gardens.
