With this small group living, we’re able to provide a homely and supportive environment that’s more responsive to individual needs.
The home also has communal dining and living spaces, a beauty salon, a therapy room, and a large accessible garden.
We offer a variety of accessible baths and showers for a range of mobility needs.

Profile of need by unit
Haslam Unit
Has complex mental health needs arising from a primary diagnosis such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depressive disorder, or from a neurological condition
Is a working-age adult (40+)
Presents with acute mental health needs, including significant emotional dysregulation, suicidal ideation, psychosis, or dangerous agitation
Displays high-risk behaviours of concern requiring enhanced observation and structured risk management
May require planned restrictive practices within a positive behaviour support framework, reducing as behaviours stabilise
May have co-occurring physical health needs requiring clinical interventions including catheters, stomas, and PEG feeding
May have a forensic background, with risk-related behaviours reduced or ceased (note: individuals with offences involving children or assessed risk to children would not be appropriate due to proximity to school)
May have a history of alcohol or other substance misuse
Can live in an active, sociable environment, where shared spaces and regular interaction with others are part of everyday life
May be moving from a hospital, secure setting, or another care setting where the placement is unable to meet their needs
Requires a community-based placement focused on stabilisation, risk reduction, and developing independence, with the potential to step down to a lower-acuity or less restrictive environment as needs stabilise
Beacon Unit
Has a primary neurological diagnosis, including brain injury or spinal cord injury
Is an older/older working-age adult (50+)
Presents with predominant physical health needs
May present with increased clinical and safety risks, including autonomic dysreflexia, infection, malnutrition, or sepsis
May require nursing and clinical interventions, including catheter and stoma care, central venous access management, and enteral feeding
May have significant mobility impairment requiring full assistance with transfers and repositioning, specialist equipment, and enhanced moving and handling support - or is primarily cared for in bed
Has reduced engagement requiring a proactive, structured approach
Requires a low-sensory environment with predictable stimuli
May be moving from hospital, a spinal injury centre, or neurological rehabilitation unit
Requires care focused on maintaining function and promoting independence for as long as possible
May experience progressive health decline and require continuing care through to end of life
Avenham Unit
Has a primary neurological diagnosis with associated complex mental health needs, including brain injury, Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, or stroke
Is a working-age adult
May have a rare condition that presents with similar symptoms, including MELAS syndrome
Has complex mental and physical health needs requiring integrated care and a high level of clinical nursing input and monitoring
Displays behaviours of concern, usually verbal behaviours that can be de-escalated and redirected through proactive support strategies
May present with increased clinical and safety risks requiring enhanced observation and structured risk management
May have limited mobility requiring regular assistance
Is active and engaged in daily life within and beyond the home
Can live in an active, sociable environment, where shared spaces and regular interaction with others are part of everyday life

Ribble View is a short drive from junction 31 of the M6.
Take the A59 towards Devonshire Place, and continue on to Church Avenue.
There are limited parking spaces in the home’s car park. Street parking is available along Church Avenue.
Public transport to Ribble View
The home is a short walk from several bus stops.
Hesketh Arms bus stop in both directions (stop IDs: lanatwgp and lanagtgd), which is accessed by buses 9, 59, 100, 280 and 664.
