With this small group living, we’re able to provide a homely and supportive environment that’s more responsive to individual needs.

Cedar Unit
Has complex co-occurring mental and physical health needs requiring integrated care beyond mainstream provision, arising from a neurological diagnosis including brain injury and dementia
Has complex long-term health needs requiring ongoing clinical monitoring
Has co-occurring physical health needs, including diabetes, dysphagia, or epilepsy
May have a secondary mental health diagnosis with associated behaviours of concern
May present with increased clinical and safety risks requiring enhanced observation and structured risk management
Requires a high level of clinical nursing input and observation to monitor for deterioration
May have a respiratory condition, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or pulmonary hypertension
May require nursing and clinical interventions, including catheter and stoma care, central venous access management, enteral feeding, and advanced respiratory support such as tracheostomy care, non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP), or mechanical ventilation
Has significant mobility impairment requiring full assistance with transfers and repositioning, specialist equipment, and enhanced moving and handling support
May have a forensic background, with risk-related behaviours reduced or ceased
May have a history of alcohol or other substance misuse
Note: this unit may not be suitable for individuals with primarily high-functioning mental health needs and no co-occurring physical health conditions, as the level and type of support required may not align with the needs of the current resident community
Maple Unit (male-only)
Has complex and enduring mental health needs arising from a primary diagnosis such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or recurrent major depressive disorder, or from a neurological condition in the advanced stages of progression such as traumatic brain injury, with mental health generally stable
Has long-term difficulties with emotional regulation, social functioning, motivation, and independent living
Requires a male-only environment to support safe management of risk and behaviour
Displays significant behaviours of concern requiring consistent risk management
Requires care focused on maintaining mental health stability, including medication support, routine-building, and monitoring for early signs of relapse
May have a forensic background, with risk-related behaviours reduced or ceased
May have a history of alcohol or other substance misuse
May have co-occurring physical health needs, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, or a respiratory condition
Has significant cognitive impairment affecting memory, judgement, and awareness of risk
May have limited mobility requiring full assistance with transfers and repositioning, specialist equipment, and enhanced moving and handling support
Requires a structured and predictable environment to promote emotional wellbeing and reduce risk of deterioration
Note: this unit may not be suitable for individuals who are independently mobile and active, as their support and activity needs may not align with the stability requirements of the current resident group
