Making memories with friends in July

Throughout July, residents and colleagues have been going head to head in sports days, enjoying trips out with friends and welcoming lots of animals into our homes.

Enjoying time with friends

The team at Bennett Court linked up with those from our Dearnevale care home for a visit to Cleethorpes, where the weather was perfect for walking along the promenade.

Everyone enjoyed playing in the arcades, walking with the donkeys, eating donuts and enjoying a meal in the local pub.

Hawaiian party at Lakeview

The team at Lakeview enjoy hosting themed days, and in July the theme was Hawaiian!

Everyone dressed up in their finest grass skirts and grabbed a flower necklace to bring the ‘Aloha’ vibes to the party.

Sports days take over our homes

Whilst the sun has had it hat on, Dearnevale care home in Barnsley organised a fun filled sports day for everyone who lives and works there.

The team at Neville Court held their own sports day, including an egg and spoon race, tug of war and a beanbag throwing competition.

Willowbeck in Sheffield held an ‘old-style’ sports day, including the egg and spoon race, three legged race, sack race and many more.

Animal therapy

Our care homes open their doors for animals to visit on a regular basis.

Residents at Longley Park View love it when Moose, their therapy dog, comes to spend the day at the home.

The Activities Team said: “he really does bring joy to our home. Residents and colleagues all love him so much, he's just a big soft teddy bear.”

Residents and colleagues at Maypole Grove enjoyed petting creepy crawlies when ZooLab came to visit.
