The team at Kingfisher View pulled out all the stops to host a red carpet awards ceremony, celebrating the amazing achievements of the people they support.
Everyone at the home got dressed up for the occasion, with residents shopping for new outfits in the theme colours of red, black, and gold.
The event was a complete surprise, planned by the staff team to make sure the people they support felt truly special.
When guests arrived, they were greeted with welcome drinks before taking their seats for a four-course meal. The dining room looked spectacular, with balloon arches, chair covers, name places, and a full table plan - all adding to the glitz and glamour of the evening.
The meal included soup to start, followed by a traditional roast dinner with a choice of two meats, and desserts of chocolate sponge or treacle sponge with custard or cream. Coffee and chocolates rounded off the night perfectly.

After the meal, the awards ceremony began, with each person receiving a certificate and small gift to recognise something they had achieved over the past year.
Jo and Christine, who joined Kingfisher View this year after spending more than 15 years in hospital, were presented with an award for successfully moving into their own flat together - something that was really important to them.
Ange received an award for keeping the tidiest flat. Since moving in, she’s chosen her own wallpaper and decorations, and takes great pride in keeping her space clean and homely.
Ange also gave a heartfelt speech at the event, thanking colleagues for their support and saying how she feels like part of the family at Kingfisher View.
One relative who attended said it was “the nicest thing that’s ever been done for my son while he’s been in care.” She was emotional to see him so happy and confident - especially when he joined in on the karaoke, something she never thought he’d do.

After the awards, the celebrations continued with live music and plenty of dancing. Everyone agreed it was a night to remember, full of pride and laughter.
Events like this are a brilliant example of how colleagues at Exemplar Health Care go above and beyond to celebrate the people they support - recognising every achievement, big or small, and helping everyone to live a fulfilling life.
