St Teresa’s Catholic Primary school visits our new Preston home, Ribble View to present safety poster designs

Earlier this month the site team at Ribble View were delighted to welcome pupils from St Teresa’s Catholic Primary school to share a selection of safety posters that the pupils had designed for the site boundary.

Children at the school have been learning about how to keep themselves safe, have discussed the dangers on a building site and how to be safe and worked on a series of safety posters which they then presented to Site Manager, Nick Edge.

After the pupils had presented their designs to Nick, he explained the build process and what the use of the building is going to be. The pupils were interested in the machinery being used and the team put the forks of the tele-handler in the air which led to the children clapping in awe of the height. One of the children made the comment that it was touching the sky.

Before heading back to school, the pupils sang a song for the Bricklayers thanking them for their work and signed a thank you book that they had brought with them.

Following the school’s visit, Nick and the site team selected the winning posters and they have been fitted on the site boundary.

Work started earlier this year on the Ribble View site on Church Avenue and the home will provide care for up to 30 adults who live with complex nursing needs. The home will also provide a dozens of jobs for local people, with recruitment details expected to be released soon.

Due to open to residents in November 2019, Ribble View will be the latest in a series of new homes we are opening in 2019.
