We’re delighted to announce that our new care home in Leicester, Greenacre Park, is now open and taking referrals.
The home supports adults living with complex dementia, neuro-disabilities including brain injuries, and physical disabilities. The home also has a designated unit for adults living with complex mental health needs.
Greenacre Park isn’t a typical residential care or nursing home.
The new Leicester care home supports younger adults with care needs considered ‘too complex’ for mainstream care providers.
The people we support often have a number of secondary diagnoses or complexities including behaviours of concern.
Exemplar Health Care’s holistic approach to care, high staffing levels and small nurse-led communities enable us to meet people’s complex needs in a community-based home, which leads to longer term person-centred outcomes.
We’re proud to open our new care home in Leicester, to enable more local people living with complex needs to get the care they need, closer to home.
Following a £5.7m investment, the home is now ready to welcome its first resident.
Exemplar Health Care purchased the previous 36-bedded Foxton Grange care home in Leicester, run by Methodist Homes.
The building was extended and fully refurbished to meet the needs of our residents.
Now, Greenacre Park has 28 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite across two fourteen-bed communities. Each community has a dining room, living spaces and a sensory bathroom. Residents also have use of an activities hub, therapy room and large accessible garden.
This small group living enables us to be more responsive to people’s needs and ensure continuity of care.
Neighours and local businesses are invited to come along to Greenacre Park on 1st November between 18:00-20:00. At the event, you will be able to meet the Manager and take a tour of the new home.

Community-based care home in Leicester
Our Nurse-led team supports younger adults living with complex needs, who’d often be in hospital if not living with us.
The home supports people on their journey from being in hospital or living in a secure setting to community-based living.
Community based living allows individuals to retain their independence whilst receiving support for their care needs.
Our care and rehabilitation enables them to stay in the community and reduces hospital and secure facility admission.

"Unparalleled care"
Nikki Swift, Home Manager at Greenacre Park said: “After months of planning, preparation, and team building, it is very exciting to finally open our doors. We’re looking forward to getting to work supporting people in Leicester and the wider Leicestershire community.
“The whole team wants to create a warm, inclusive, and vibrant community. Where individuals can thrive, families can find support, and where compassionate care is at the forefront of everything we do.
“Partnerships will be a core part of this. In particular, working closely with local health and social care professionals, our valued residents, their families, and the broader community. Our goal is to make sure people receive unparalleled care and have their complex needs met within the comfort of their own community.”
Katie Capes, Commissioning Manager for Exemplar Health Care, said: "We are thrilled to announce the opening of our care home in Leicester. The building had an extensive refurbishment and extension to meet the needs of our residents.
“We know this type of service is in high demand for people in the local area. Our dedicated team is looking forward to working with local Commissioners, Social Workers, and families. We want to make a positive difference to people that need long term care and support.”
