Ringing in the New Year in our homes

12 January 2022

Service users at a New Year party

At Exemplar Health Care we’re committed to engaging with our residents in a variety of meaningful ways to encourage and support them to maintain social connections and engagement, if they wish to and wherever possible.

After what seemed like the longest year we’ve experienced so far, colleagues in our homes decided to throw some amazing New Year’s Eve parties to celebrate midnight with our residents.

Some of our activities teams and home based staff really went to town with the decorations to make the ringing in of 2022 a night to remember!

Our Yarningdale care home in Ripley laid out a fantastic buffet for our residents and threw a party so that they could all enjoy bringing in 2022 together.

They also made sure that any of our residents who were isolating due to COVID-19 didn’t miss out by bringing them a party tray and party hat!

The celebrations continued at our Otterburn care home in Birmingham, where residents partied together through the day and night.

New year celebrations were in full swing at The Staying Inn at Dearnevale on New years eve. All of the residents enjoyed the night and welcoming 2022.

They even had a guest appearance from DJ Dave, one of our Health Care Asssistants.

Ravensdale care home in Leeds prepared for the New Year by making decorations with residents for their party. On the night they played some silly games, had lots of dancing, singing, food and drinks!

Person-centred care with Exemplar Health Care

Exemplar Health Care is a leading provider of specialist nursing care for adults living with a range of complex and high acuity needs.

Our approach to care is personalised to the individuals that we support – we work with them, their loved ones and professionals to design a care plan that’s tailored to their needs and goals.

We encourage people to continue to do the things that they enjoy, as well as develop new hobbies and access education and volunteering if they wish. And we adjust our approach as a person’s condition develops and changes.

Our high staffing levels of Registered Nurses and trained Health Care Assistants are determined by each person’s individual needs. This enables us to work at their own pace and build trust, and provide support with all aspects of their life, which leads to improved person-centred and longer-term outcomes.
