Our learning and development opportunities are second to none

There are lots of opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge with us and progress in your career at Exemplar Health Care.

Your learning starts on day one! When you join us, you’ll do a corporate welcome induction which includes learning about the company and our values, and completing training relevant to your role.

Following the corporate welcome induction, you'll do a role-specific induction in your new workplace and meet your buddy who'll support you in your first few weeks. New colleagues in care roles will complete the Care Certificate as part of their induction (if you’re new to care).

From there, you can apply for one of our many in-house training programmes which include:

  • ABC of Caring
  • People Management Skills
  • Effective Manager Series
  • Leadership and Management Programme
  • Talent Management Programme.

We also offer a range of apprenticeships, at all levels, for colleagues who want to gain a formal qualification whilst earning and learning on-the-job.

We care about colleague health and wellbeing

We know that our colleagues are at the heart of the outstanding care that our residents receive each and every day.

We also know that care work can be stressful at times. This is why we’re committed to supporting our colleagues to stay safe, happy and healthy at work.

When you work with us, you get exclusive access to our online Wellbeing Centre which has tips, blogs and tools around the topics of munch, move, money and mind.

We ensure that our colleagues always have someone to talk to. Each of our care homes has a trained Mental Health First Aider who you can talk to about your mental health.

You can also access our Employee Assistance Programme which gives you 24/7 support from trained counsellors.

We’re opening new care homes in 2022 

2022 promises to be an exciting time for Exemplar Health Care. We hope to open between five and ten new specialist care homes across the year.

Working in one of our new care homes allows you to shape the culture and team in the home.

We’re looking for colleagues to join our new homes in a range of roles including:

  • Health Care Assistants
  • Registered Nurses
  • Clinical Nurse Manager
  • Commissioning Home Director
  • Activities/Life Skills Coordinators
  • Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists
  • Care home support roles including Housekeepers, Maintenance Operatives and Cooks.
