Celebrating our nurses on International Nurses Day

As part of our celebrations for International Nurses Day (12 May), senior members of the Exemplar Health Care team visited our 27 specialist care homes to say a personal thank you to our inspirational nurses for their hard work, commitment and dedication for the people who live in our homes.

Sharing cakes, afternoon tea and spending time together, our homes across Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North West, celebrated the fantastic nurses that work in our homes delivery high-quality care for our residents.

Helen Baxendale who visited Pathways, Meadowcroft, Eastlands, Fairwinds and Lonnen Grove said:

“I had a fabulous morning visiting our homes. Everyone was very welcoming and I really enjoyed everyone’s company. We have amazing colleagues and residents, and it was an honour to be part of their celebrations!”

As well as our homes celebrating the day, three Exemplar Health Care nurses, Julie, Lynn and Violetta, after being nominated by their managers, enjoyed a special, prestigious celebration event in London. The nurses, accompanied by Exemplar Health Care’s Clinical Director Helen Baxendale and Senior Director of Operations Selina Wall, attended ‘Westminster Abbey Commemoration Service for Florence Nightingale’ event, and afterwards enjoyed afternoon tea to round of the day.
