Blackmoor celebrates its first anniversary

Our Blackmoor care home in Birmingham marked its first anniversary last week with cakes, food and gifts! 

At a party held at the home last week, colleagues who have been working at the home since it first opened were awarded with gifts as a thank you for their year’s service.

Residents and colleagues celebrated the special occasion with music, refreshments and a decorated cake and cupcakes to match.

Exemplar Health Care’s Managing Director, Selina Wall, joined colleagues to thank them for their commitment throughout the first year.

Natalee Coleman, Blackmoor’s Home Manager, said: “We had a fun day celebrating our one year anniversary. This was a great opportunity to thank the team for their hard work during our first year of being open.”

The home opened in September 2021, after a £4.9m investment to provide Birmingham with a new state-of-the-art, specialist nursing home which supports adults living with complex mental health needs and neuro-disabilities. The home was officially opened in February 2022 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Muhammad Afzal.

Located in Tile Cross, Birmingham, Blackmoor was bespoke-built from the ground up by Exemplar Health Care.

The home has three ten-bed units which specialise in supporting adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities, brain injuries, spinal injuries and complex dementia.

Blackmoor also has communal dining and living spaces, as well as a therapy room which provides a dedicated space for rehabilitation.

The home is also surrounded by a large landscaped garden, that’s been designed with accessibility in mind, and is ideal for parties, events and activities.
