Lakeview care home in Leigh recently marked its second birthday with cakes, lots of party food, decorations, games, songs and a pyjama party.

Across Lakeview, which is home to 25 adults living with complex needs, residents and the care team held three separate parties on each of the three units.

When each party got going, everyone joined in the fun!

Residents and care colleagues all wore pyjamas, and sang happy birthday while cutting the rainbow-themed cake, iced to honour health and care workers during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

Several care colleagues who have been with the home since its opening day two years ago were each given a bouquet of flowers.

“We had a fantastic two-year anniversary at Lakeview,” said Home Manager Maxine Buckley. “There were lovely decorations and food – and everyone enjoyed the day.”

Lakeview opened for residents two years ago, in July 2018.

The home was then formally opened in September that same year by the then-Mayor of Wigan, Councillor Sue Greensmith.
