Complex nursing care in Hull
Marmaduke care home in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire supports adults living with complex and high acuity care needs arising from complex dementia, mental health needs and neurological conditions including brain injuries and strokes.
The team is trained to support those who display behaviours of concern.
We support people on their rehabilitation journey from hospital or living in a secure setting to community-based living. We also provide long term support for people living with degenerative or life-limiting illnesses.
About Marmaduke
We provide a supportive environment at Marmaduke. People get the care they need and are able to stay closer to their loved ones.
Marmaduke has 18 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across two units. The home has communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, a sensory bathroom and a large accessible garden.

Fairhaven Unit supports nine adults living with complex mental health needs and neurological conditions including brain injuries.
- Hopewell Unit

Hopewell Unit supports nine adults living with complex dementia who may also have other neurological needs. The environment has been specifically developed to be dementia-friendly and includes a sensory garden.
The home is close to local amenities and transport links so that people can maintain their community connections.

Complex care at Marmaduke
The team at Marmaduke has an excellent track record of supporting adults whose placements have previously failed. Our high staffing levels allow us to build trust and work at the pace of the individual, which leads to improved person-centred and longer-term outcomes.
Many of the people we support at Marmaduke are deemed to display behaviours that are ‘too complex’ for mainstream nursing and care providers.
For many of our service users, we’re successful in achieving a significant reduction in behaviours of concern and use of observations within 12 weeks of stay.
