Wykewood celebrates its first anniversary

Wykewood care home in Wyke, Bradford, celebrated its first year anniversary last week. The specialist care home opened in June 2021, and is now home to 19 residents and employer to 74 incredible colleagues.
Wykewood opened its doors in June 2021 following its successful registration with CQC, specialising in caring for adults over and under 65 years, dementia, mental health conditions and physical disabilities.
Since, the home has provided a welcoming and supportive home for 19 residents who benefit from the in-house team of Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Life Skills Coordinators and Physiotherapist.
Colleagues who’ve worked at the home since it opened were given thank you gifts to mark the anniversary.
They enjoyed refreshments and a beautiful cake baked by the home’s Chef.
Exemplar Health Care’s Managing Director, Selina Wall, joined colleagues to thank them for their commitment throughout the first year.
Kim Payne, Home Manager, said: “We had a lovely afternoon celebrating our first birthday party. One of our values is FUN, and we love any excuse to have a party and celebrate. This was a great opportunity to thank the team for their hard work during our first year of being open.”

Wykewood is a specialist care home in Bradford, West Yorkshire for adults living with complex and high acuity needs.
The team specialises in supporting adults living with complex mental health needs and neuro-disabilities including Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
Wykewood has 40 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite across four units. The home has communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, a sensory bathroom and a large accessible garden.
