Service users at shopping in the local community

At Exemplar Health Care, we encourage and support our residents to remain valued and active members of their local communities.

Our homes have, and always will be, at the heart of local communities so that people can receive the specialist care that they need, close to family and friends and in the communities that they’ve always lived in.

Recently, we’ve been seeing our residents engaging with their local communities and getting into the festive spirit.

Christmas shopping

Our Kavanagh Place care home in Liverpool had a lovely day out Christmas shopping in the city centre, they had a lovely day getting presents for their families and checking out some of the amazing Christmas displays.

Tyne Grange, a care home based in Newcastle also had a fun festive day out shopping for some Christmas jumpers… however they did get distracted by one of the display trains and a festive array of hats!

Pantomimes in the run up to Christmas

On the run up to Christmas, Quarryfields care home in Doncaster are doing something special every week. On week one they took our residents to see Aladdin. One of our Health Care Assistant said: “It was amazing, everyone did brilliantly and it was certainly a day to remember, thank you to all staff and residents for coming along for the ride!”

Christmas pub lunch

Lakeview, a care home based in Leigh, decided to have a festive trip out to a nearby pub for some lunch. George, Barry and some of our Exemplar Health Care staff had a lovely three course meal, some drinks and listened to a live singer.

Community Christmas project

St Andrew’s Court, a care home based in Hull, decided to launch a community Christmas project within their home call 'We made this'.

The home is trying to get as many Christmas packs as possible out to people living in care homes across Hull. The packs will contain a Christmas card, a tree decoration and a Christmas message.

Here are some of the Christmas cards they made.
