Our new Commissioning Home Director leads our Ribble View preview event in Preston prior to its opening

Our new Preston care home, Ribble View, is set to open this autumn and we were thrilled to host several commissioners during a recent preview event of the home.

During the preview, our Commissioning Director, Charlotte Lloyd, Head of Customer Engagement, Karen Walsh and new Commissioning Home Director for Ribble View, Denise Hampson gave tours of the home to local stakeholders and commissioners. The tours were provided to give a taster of how the development has progressed over recent months and showcase the environment that is being created for our residents.

Attendees commented on the light and space throughout the building, with some of the bedrooms having direct access to the communal gardens or a balcony. We were thrilled to receive comments about how we’d very much thought about the age and preferences of our residents, considering that they might use games consoles in their leisure time and designing the features of the leisure room accordingly.

They were also excited to see our spacious therapy room and visitor suite which will give family and friends the opportunity to stay on site. The suite has a bathroom and small kitchen, so that guests can prepare their own drinks during their stay.

The preview proved to be a great opportunity for our newly recruited Home Director, Denise Hampson to meet and work with the wider Exemplar team for the first time. Denise has joined our team to run the service at Ribble View and comes to us with 23 years’ experience in the sector.

She is known for being hard working and caring, and she is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care and support for our residents who will be moving into Ribble View.

Talking of the preview event and her appointment, Denise said: “I was really excited to be part of such a special introductory event at Ribble View. It was great to see how well the home has been received by local commissioners and to hear their feedback on how Exemplar has worked with them from such an early stage to develop a home that truly meets the needs of service users in the North West.

“I’m looking forward to leading the Ribble View team and welcoming our first residents into the home this autumn. We’ve had such a great reaction to the home and jobs available that I can already envisage the wonderful activities we’ll be hosting when the home opens officially later in the year.”
