We are delighted to announce that Kingfisher View’s official opening event will take place on Thursday 16 May, from 1pm – 3pm.

Local health and social care professionals and regional commissioners are invited to meet the management and care team and get a first look at Exemplar Health Care’s newest Castleford service.

The team, including Home Manager, Mark Rice-Thomson and Senior Director of Operations, Selina Wall, will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss local requirements. The Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield will also be attending to help us celebrate the occasion.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Wakefield will be making a special visit to Kingfisher View, especially for the opening and will be joined by a former Fairburn Mews resident to cut the ribbon.

For more information, e-mail communications@exemplarhc.com. To register your attendance to the opening event, please visit the Eventbrite page here.

Now open to residents, Kingfisher View is Exemplar Health Care’s newest service and will be home to 12 people, and joins our two other Castleford homes, Fairburn Mews and Fairburn Vale. The home provides specialist nursing care for people who live with complex mental health needs.

The service is made up of five spacious, two-bedroom apartments and two one-bedroom apartments as well as shared communal spaces and gardens.

Home Manager, Mark Rice-Thomson, said: “Kingfisher View is a beautiful home designed around the needs of people who live with complex mental health conditions.

“The large apartments, spacious dining areas and a communal courtyard garden create an environment where people can live with independence.

“The home’s apartment style-living will allow residents who live with mental health conditions to feel at home, tailor their living spaces and be in control of their lives, whilst continuing to receive a high-level of personalised care and support.

“I’m looking forward to welcoming residents, their families and health care commissioners into our home.”
