We’re delighted to announce that our new complex needs care home in Sunderland, Hylton Grange, is now open.

Hylton Grange supports adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities. 

The team were delighted to open their doors this week and introduce their first resident to their new home. 

People can live well and enjoy life to the fullest 

Samantha Sim, Commissioning Manager at Hylton Grange, said: “I am delighted to welcome our first residents and colleagues to our new home. “With our state-of-the-art facilities, highly trained staff, and focus on promoting independence and choice, Hylton Grange will set a new standard for excellence in the care for adults, whilst bringing much needed additional specialist care capacity to the local area.”

About Hylton Grange

Hylton Grange specialises in supporting younger adults living with dementia, acquired brain injuries, complex mental health conditions and physical disabilities. 

Hylton Grange is split into three, ten-bed communities, as small group living provides a more homely, supportive, and responsive care environment. Each of the 30 bedrooms has its own en-suite wet room.

The units have lots of communal space with their own dining room, lounge, quiet lounge and a sensory bathroom. 

Residents can also enjoy an activities hub, therapy, room, hair salon and large accessible gardens for socialising with others. The home has its own therapy room providing a dedicated space for rehabilitation.

Important part in our mission

As a specialist care provider, our staffing levels at Hylton Grange are higher than most. With an average of six Health Care Assistants and at least one Registered Nurse on each small unit. 

Our in-house team also includes a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Therapy Assistant and Activities Team. 

Each one of our teams play an important part in our mission to make every day better for the people we support.

As we welcome new residents to Hylton Grange, we’re looking to grow our team with Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses and support roles including catering, housekeeping and maintenance.
