Exemplar Health Care is delighted to launch our new ABC of Caring programme for Support Workers and Activities Coordinators, to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours.

We're committed to developing our colleagues – and this year, we’re delighted to launch this new programme for Support Workers and Activities Coordinators.

The programme has been designed by, and will be delivered by, our expert in-house Learning and Development Team and covers modules about:

  • Always Be Coaching (Introduction to Coaching)

  • Always Be Courteous (Communication Skills)

  • Approachable, Bold, Communicating (Taking the lead)

  • Appearance, Behaviours, Courtesy (Customer service skills)

  • Achieving Brilliant Changes (Introduction to Service Improvement)

  • Active, Brave, Courageous (Raising concerns).

The programme adds to Exemplar Health Care’s already extensive learning and development programme, which includes training such as the Effective Manager Series and Trainee Nurse Associate apprenticeship.

Lauren Brooke, Learning and Development Lead at Exemplar Health Care, says:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be announcing this programme for our care colleagues. We realised that there was a gap in formal training provision for Support Workers and Activities Coordinators who wanted to enhance their skills and knowledge to support their role, and this programme aims to bridge that gap.

“After initially delaying the start due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the first module starts in October 2020, and we can’t wait to welcome our first cohort.

“This is just one of the many exciting opportunities that we’re introducing over the next year, as we continue to develop our learning culture at Exemplar Health Care.”
