Christmas card competition winners 2020

Over the last month, residents from across our care homes have been busy designing cards for our Christmas card competition – and this week, we’re delighted to announce our top four winners.

After the challenging year that we’ve all had, our Service User Council, made up of Service User Ambassadors from each of our 32 homes, wanted to organise a fun competition that everyone could get involved in.

In November, we opened our Christmas card competition, and were delighted to receive 48 entries from units in our homes.

We’re pleased to announce our top four winners who’ll each win a Cadbury’s chocolate hamper to share on the unit and 100 printed copies of their card to share with loved ones.

Otterburn, one of our five care homes in Birmingham, was our first winner.

The judges were very impressed with this card, which was painted by a service user who is a talented artist. They also liked the interactive scrabble in the middle that service users can play, and thought that this was a unique and engaging idea to get everyone involved.

Dearnevale – Ladywood unit

The Ladywood unit at our Dearnevale care home in Grimethorpe, Barnsley, was our next winner.

This card was designed to reflect on the challenges of 2020, and the judges liked the thought and concept behind this card.

The Lodge

The Lodge, one of our learning disability services in Swallownest, was our third winner.

The judges loved that this design was so simple yet really effective, and it was great to see that everyone was able to take part.

Ravensdale, one of our two care homes in Leeds, was our final winner.

The judges thought that this design was really clever and a great way to get everyone involved in the card – it felt really personal to the residents at the home.

We’d like to say a big well done to our winners and to all of our homes that submitted a card – we certainly have a talented bunch here at Exemplar Health Care.
