Group Management Accountant (MAT COVER)

Position: Group Management Accountant 
Location: 17 Europa View, Sheffield Business Park, S9 1HX, minimum 3 days per week in the office.
Contract type: Fixed Term 12 months contract, 40 hour per week
Rate: Competitive 
 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company as our new Group Management Accountant in Sheffield

As our Group Management Accountantyou’ll be responsible for delivery of a high quality set of management accounts each period with the support of a competent and experienced team.

Whilst this is a maternity cover FTC role, there is an opportunity for a permanent position due to the continual growth of the business and evolution of the finance team

About the role

As a Group Management Accountant with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll ensure that the P&L and Balance sheet are accurately produced in order for the business to effectively monitor its performance.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • deliver accurate management accounts each period within the required timetable with the support of an experienced team of six Finance Assistants

  • prepare monthly accruals and prepayments and month end reconciliations

  • manage approval of bank payments and treasury functions i.e. upkeep of mandates, opening new accounts

  • debt monitoring and interest reconciliations (PE funded business)

  • maintain accurate cash flow information

  • monitor and report on CAPEX spend

  • ensure balance sheets are fully reconciled and controlled

  • support Group Financial Reporting Manager in ensuring there is strong financial compliance and governance across the business and that internal controls are followed

  • provide accurate analysis of financial information as required to internal and external stakeholders

  • carry out Ad-Hoc finance team tasks with support from knowledgeable and experienced team members.

About you

  • be a fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA,CIMA), would consider part qualified and QBE for the right candidate

  • have a high level of Excel competency (Pivots, Lookups, If$)

  • have strong numerical skills and attention to detail

  • have strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • be a strong organiser able to multitask and prioritise

  • have a keen eye for detail, able to spot areas for improvement

  • be an excellent team player

  • follow policies, processes and regulations relevant to your role (training will be provided).

  • understanding of care homes business models and experience of larger business environments (£200m T/O)

  • knowledge of SQL tables.
