Sophia Feurtado is an experienced healthcare leader who brings more than 35 years of experience in patient involvement, community engagement, service improvement, and co-production to her role as Service User Experience Manager at Exemplar Health Care.

Sophia leads Exemplar Health Care’s co-production and service user engagement agenda, ensuring the people we support have a meaningful voice in shaping services, policies, training, and organisational decisions.

Throughout her career, Sophia has held a range of roles across the NHS, independent healthcare, and mental health services, including Head of Patient Experience, Head of Communications, Marketing and Community Engagement, Service User Involvement and Community Engagement Lead, and Operational Services Manager.

She also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Birmingham City University.

Sophia is passionate about empowering people with lived experience to influence change.

She supports our Service User Ambassadors and regional Service User Councils, helping people share feedback, contribute to organisational projects, and influence decisions that improve services across Exemplar Health Care.

Created the Life Skills Toolkit to support meaningful activities and greater independence.

Led co-production initiatives that have shaped policies, training, and service development.
