Rachel Calladine is Business Development Director at Exemplar Health Care, with over ten years' experience in operational and business development roles within the organisation.

She works with commissioners and healthcare partners to help people with complex needs access the right care and placement.

At Exemplar Health Care

Rachel leads the Business Development, Referrals, Clinical Assessment, and Marketing teams, building relationships with Integrated Care Boards, local authorities, and NHS Trusts, and supporting our aim to be the complex care provider of choice for funding organisations.

Having progressed from Operations Manager to Senior Director of Operations and then Business Development Director, Rachel brings extensive operational knowledge to her role.

She is committed to working alongside people, families, and commissioners to find the right care first time, helping to reduce hospital readmissions and support more stable outcomes.

Experience

Rachel has extensive experience across nursing care, clinical leadership, mental health, forensic services, and operational management.

She joined Exemplar Health Care in 2015 as Regional Operations Manager and progressed to Head of Operations and then Senior Director of Operations before becoming Business Development Director in 2021.

This operational experience gives Rachel a strong understanding of our homes, the people we support, and what’s needed to create stable, successful placements.

Before joining Exemplar Health Care, Rachel held senior clinical and operational roles with Lighthouse Healthcare, Care Through The Millennium, and Combat Stress, The Veterans’ Mental Health Charity.

Earlier in her career, she spent eight years with HM Prison Service as a Trainee Forensic Psychologist, giving her significant experience within forensic settings.

My favourite days at work are at our Service User Council meetings, where the number one focus is fun. My biggest priority is how we can continually ensure that the people we support are involved in shaping decisions at Exemplar Health Care.”
