Welcome to Lakeview

Exemplar's newest nurse-led care service, Lakeview, is a purpose built care home for 30 people. Three 10-bed units will provide care and support to individuals with complex dementia, mental ill-health, brain injuries, Huntington's disease and other neuro-disabilities.

Personalised care

At Lakeview, we will build our care and activity plans around individuals, supporting, nurturing and encouraging them to live happy, fulfilled lives. We embrace a person centred care philosophy so we can meet individualised care needs. Making every day better is about achieving the best possible outcomes for those we care for. We work closely with individuals, families and other health care professionals.

Our home

Service users will be encouraged to decorate their large, light and airy bedrooms to suit their individual tastes. Two specialist bariatric bedroom suites are available on the ground floor.

Each unit has beautiful and spacious lounges, with views over the lake. In addition, therapy kitchens are available for all service users, families and friends to use.

At Lakeview, we understand the importance of good, nutritious foods; while service users are encouraged to practice their culinary skills, we will provide a wide choice of foods at meal times. Service users will be encouraged to work with us to create menus, which suit individual dietary and lifestyle requirements.

Life at Lakeview

A dedicated clinical team will carry out occupational, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy with service users. Alongside the therapy team, a multi-disciplinary team will support service users and work closely with consultants, GP’s, allied health professionals, specialist nurses, mental health teams and more, to ensure service users receive the best quality of care.

Exemplar supports service users in achieving their individual goals. The goals and outcomes outlined are personal to each individual, and ensure staff, families and most importantly, service users are all working together to achieve their goals. Goals may include a full recovery and returning to life within the community, or may be the ability to live a more independent lifestyle – whatever the outcome, we strive to encourage individuals to reach their goals.

Lakeview also features an additional space for activities and socialising, separate to the main home – The Hub. The Hub will host training and events by healthcare professionals and community groups, as well as providing an additional space for service users to carry out activities, have fun socialising and get creative. Landscaped gardens are accessible for all, complete with vegetable patches and areas for carrying out activities. The first-floor also features a glass-walled balcony, providing further outside space, perfect for relaxing during the warmer months.

A message from Jo Roughley, Registered Home Manager

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to set up Exemplar’s newest home. Lakeview will provide a high standard of care for adults who require specialist nurse-led care. The home will create job opportunities, and The Hub will provide a space for activities, socialising and for community groups to meet. I am very much looking forward to engaging with local health and social care professionals and making Lakeview part of Leigh’s local community.”
