Exemplar Health Care has begun the refurbishment of a new complex needs care home in Warrington. The home will provide care for adults living with a range of complex and high acuity needs.
The new home, named Woolston House, will provide nursing care for 40 residents and will generate around 150 new jobs for those in the surrounding Warrington area.
Once completed, Woolston House will have 40 large bedrooms - each with an en-suite wet room - will provide nursing care for adults living with dementia, acquired brain injury, complex mental health conditions and physical disabilities.
The home will be surrounded by an easy-access sensory garden and include a communal hub, living and dining spaces for residents and their friends and family to socialise.
Charlotte Lloyd, Developments Director at Exemplar Health Care, shares: “We’re pleased to announce we are investing in a 40-bed care home for the Warrington area.
“It is extremely rewarding to be able to support 40 local people with complex health needs and to provide over 150 stable and local jobs. As well as providing employment opportunities, there are plans in place to help Woolston House become part of the local community. It’s our ambition for Woolston House to be a place where we host community events, and where our residents can be part of the community, whether through work placements, local events or volunteering.”
“This community-based home will provide person-centered care and rehabilitation that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills, and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.
Plans for the home
We’re working with reputable pre-application Planning Advisors and Architects to ensure that the design of the building is in keeping with the local area, whilst also meeting the needs of the residents who will live in the home.

About Exemplar Health Care
Exemplar Health Care is one of the country’s leading nursing care providers for adults living with complex needs.
Our Nurse-led teams are trained to support adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities including brain injuries, Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, and physical disabilities including cerebral palsy, spinal injuries and musculoskeletal disorders.
The people we support often have a number of secondary diagnoses, complexities and risks including behaviours of concern, prolonged disorders of consciousness, tracheostomies, ventilators and PEG feeding tubes.
The people we support would often be in a hospital or higher acuity setting if not placed with us. Our nursing care enables them to stay in the community and reduces hospital and secure facility admission.
We support people on their journey from being in hospital or living in a secure setting to community-based living. We also provide long term support for people living with degenerative or life-limiting illnesses.
Our homes provide person-centred nursing care that focuses on maximising independence and building everyday living skills. We aim to empower people to live fulfilled lives and achieve their personal goals.
We have over 40 nursing homes across Yorkshire, the Midlands, the North East and the North West of England.
Careers at Exemplar Health Care
