Exemplar Health Care’s longest-serving colleague celebrates 20 years in company

Cath Kay

Cath Kay, our longest-serving colleague, this week celebrated her two-decade career with Exemplar Health Care at a party held in her honour.

After two decades as an NHS care assistant, Cath began her career with Exemplar Health Care in 1999, the same year it was founded.

Joining Exemplar Health Care as a newly-trained nurse, Cath’s first promotion was as a Unit Manager. She then became a Clinical Nurse Manager, and then Home Manager for several Exemplar Health Care homes.

She currently works as the Home Manager of Quarryfields, Exemplar Health Care’s 20-bed specialist care home in Doncaster.

“It has been my great pleasure to have met and nursed some of the bravest people, who despite their difficulties always manage to live a life to the best of their ability and make us all smile,” said Cath.

At a party in Exemplar Health Care’s Ferham House headquarters in Rotherham, Cath was thanked by Euan Craig, Exemplar Health Care’s CEO, and received a cake and card. Cath is the first colleague to receive a badge for 20 years with Exemplar Health Care.

“Exemplar Health Care is very supportive, and very big on training,” Cath says. “They support you with your career. You never feel like you’re stuck.”

Cath added: “Exemplar Health Care’s always been very supportive and loyal to me, and in return, I’ve been loyal to the company - I love how they go that little bit extra for colleagues.”

“A massive thank you for all the years - and still more to come!”

Congratulations, Cath!
