Greenside Court celebrates 15 years of care milestone

Exemplar Health Care’s Rotherham care home Greenside Court celebrated 15 years of making a difference with a special anniversary celebration afternoon for residents, the care team and family members to enjoy.

Greenside Court opened its doors to residents back in 2003 and was the first of Exemplar Health Care’s 26 homes to open across Yorkshire and the Humber, North West and East and West Midlands regions.

The celebration event saw residents, family members and Exemplar team members come together for an afternoon of refreshments and entertainment to mark the milestone.

To show their appreciation to Greenside Court, Deputy Mayor of Rotherham Jenny Andrews and Councillor Jeanette Mallinder attended the afternoon to spend time getting to know residents, family members and the care team.

Deputy Mayor of Rotherham Jenny Andrews, said: “I am delighted to attend Greenside’s 15th birthday event and I am so impressed with not only the home itself, but with the passionate care team and to see how happy people are living here.

“After speaking with residents, their families and the care team it is evident that the home not only provide fantastic care but go above any beyond for people to experience extra things in their lives, including working within the community.”

“I would like to congratulate Greenside on the past 15 years and look forward to the years to come.”

Greenside Court’s catering manager Jack Shipman has worked at the home since it opened and said: “I have loved every minute at Greenside and met some amazing people along the way. My work family are my second family and it is a pleasure to have worked here for 15 years.”

Anthony, who has lived at Greenside for two years after being in a debilitating car incident in October 2016, said: “Greenside have been amazing with everything since I moved here, and have helped me so much with my rehabilitation. The staff have also helped me in my new job at JustDifferent.”

JustDifferent is a Rotherham based charity that specialises in providing educational workshops around disabilities in schools and workplaces. Anthony’s job sees him take part in workshops at local schools in Rotherham and share his story with pupils.

Congratulations, Greenside for reaching such an impressive milestone!
