To celebrate Halloween, The Platform at Quarryfields has transformed itself in to ‘The Spooky Platform’ and to get in the mood for the spooky day, are offering customers lots of different Halloween themed treats!
The Platform, Quarryfields’ very own coffee shop, has set up its most recent pop-up shop with a scary Halloween theme and, for the 31st October will be known as ‘The Spooky Platform’.
Since opening in May this year, The Platform has already hosted a 12-week coffee shop, arts and crafts months and a gardening themed pop-up.
The Halloween theme has seen residents not only enjoy decorating the shop with spooky decorations but people recently took part in some Halloween crafts and worked on their own scary masks.
To go with the autumnal theme, ‘The ‘Spooky Platform’ is excited to sell pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin pie and pumpkin shortbread.
To carry on the pumpkin theme, service users have made special spooky ‘make your own pumpkin shortbread’ jars for customer to enjoy.
Led by Heather Johnson, Education Facilitator at The Platform, the shop is completely staffed by Quarryfields’ service users and the entire project has been based on input from the residents’ education group.
Residents have not only been involved in receiving top barista training but have also had a say in the volunteer’s uniforms, the colour theme and have created their own recipes.
Happy Halloween from everyone at ‘The Spooky Platform’!
