Exemplar Health Care has pledged to train 100 new Dementia Friends during World Alzheimer’s Month by providing free training sessions throughout September.
By becoming a Dementia Friend, you can learn more about what it is like to live with the different forms of dementia, and turn this information into action. By transferring information into an action, we will all find there are ways in which we can better support loved ones, colleagues, friends, service users and others who are living with dementia – whatever the stage of their condition.
Complex dementia is a neurological condition which causes a decline in a person’s ability to think, communicate and remember things as others can. The Alzheimer’s Society estimates there to be roughly 42,000 people living with early-onset dementia – more than 5% more than those with the more common form of dementia. Exemplar is here for when the symptoms become too much for families to manage – our specialist nurses and dementia care staff are trained to look out for challenging situations and know how to effectively manage a person’s condition.
The work to train 100 Dementia Friends in September is already underway, with training sessions planned for Birmingham, Sheffield and Rotherham so far. Everyone is welcome to book a place on Exemplar’s Dementia Friends training sessions – just follow the links below:
